Reunited and it feels so good

Remember about the time I told you I was disappointed about a dinner with friends that wasn't pushed through? If you don't, then read here to know more about it. So anyway, finally, last night it pushed through. YEY!! Our dearest friend who's now working in Singapore was able to come and visit us here in Cebu last Friday. So we instantly planned for a dinner reunion. It happened last night at Ayala. I was super excited to see them all!!

F.Y.I.: The last time we got to hang out was in Feb of 2010. It's been a year already. Imagine that! And the funny thing is, we all live in Cebu (well except for one who's already based in Singapore). Hahaha! Well anyway, here are some pics to sum up the superb fun night I had with my superb friends:

Dinner was at Casa Verde in Ayala. I had golden chicken strips (not sure of the name) while the rest of them had steak and their famous baby back ribs. I always love eating at Casa Verde. They have superb meals at an affordable price. Plus their ambiance is always a delight. Over dinner, we caught up with each others lives. From work to school to love life. And we also had some gossiping to catch up! Hahaha! Talking about HS is always a bliss! Hahaha!

After our sumptuous dinner, we headed over to Red Box for some karaoke time. This would be the 2nd time that I've been to this place. And I have to say that I love it!! Although it is a bit pricey, it is totally worth is because their songs are the latest hits plus they have great food and great service too! We availed of their 99/hr/person package exclusive of tax. We lasted their for two hours. Got tired of singing our hearts out! Hahahaha! And I guess we got tired of dancing too! It was a riot inside! Hahaha!

Lurelyn, our friend who is now based in Singapore, treated us with this Vodka. Now, I have never been an avid drinker of Vodka. Only Tequilla. And it's been quite a while since I had drank an alcoholic beverage so when I took a sip from this drink, my face turned weird. Hahaha! Not only my face, but my friends as well! Hahahaha!! It was really funny to see them looking so weird after every sip. I guess it was too hard for us. Or maybe we weren't just used to with the taste. We paired it with french fries and some chocolates as well to alleviate the eekiness (I know, no such term) of the taste. LOL! But it sure did recharge me! We continued to sing and danced and made fun of each other. Pictures here and there and everywhere! Hahaha! And since their WiFi was free, we also took advantage of it. Tweeted and posted some pics in Facebook and Twitter. Then at around 9 something, we decided to end our singing career. Hahahahaha!

The perfect way to get rid of the taste of the vodka that was stuck in our tongues was through a cup of ice cream. We ordered at Gelatissimo and I had me a choco chip flavored ice cream. Although Carla left early, we continued to hang out and talked more about our individual lives. I found out a lot from that night. A lot of secrets and intrigues to be exact. But what was talked about last night in Gelatissimo, stays there and between us! Some were shocking, surprising and purely expected. Some were gross and some were exciting. I also found out something that will happen soon in my friends life. And we're all very excited about it! Haaai! We really did missed out A LOT about each others lives. And last night was the perfect way to catch up. With a cup-full of ice cream, our night ended the way I wanted it to be. FUN and WORTH REMEMBERING! I'm really looking forward to our next bonding. Im sure its one hell of a riot again! LOL!

Thank you Cai, Lyn, Toi, Manuel and Carla for the superb FUN we had last night. I super duper missed you guys so much!! I was uber happy that we finally got to hang out and talked about our lives. Till our next bonding! And hopefully we get to have as much fun as we had last night! LOVE YOU ALL!!!! :)

And a special shout out to the birthday girl who we failed to treat out last night. Sorry, Carla! We'll all make it up to you next week!

xoxo

Pre-valentines dinner at TOSH

Well, if you have been an avid reader of my blog (just assuming), then you'll know that I'm still single. And this will be the 3rd valentines that I am boyfriend-less. It doesn't bother me at all, though. But I have to say that I miss getting flowers and chocolates or other special surprises during this special LOVE day. It just makes me want to sulk in bed all day until this Valentine's day is over. Naaah. Just kidding. ;)

So last Satuday, Feb. 12, 2011, me and TSC (The Singles Club) consisting of Sheng, Nina, Thamer and Adie planned on having a pre-valentines date dinner. This will also serve as a bonding moment for us. You see, we're all  very busy with work and other stuffs that we rarely get to see and spend time with each other. So the plan was to have dinner at The Old Spaghetti House (TOSH) in SM at 6pm. Well, Pinoys as we are, most of them were late for our plan. Hehehe. :))

We always love to eat at TOSH. So what's in this place that makes us come back for more?

First of all, they have GREAT SERVICE. I'd give them a 5-star rating for that. They always serve your food in time and the best thing is, it is served HOT.

Second, they have one of the BEST LOOKING FOOD ATTENDANTS. Since day one, I've always observed that most of the waitress or waiter that serves the food or hands out our bill are really good looking. I think it's part of their qualifications in hiring food attendants.

Third, they have one of the best pasta's served here in Cebu. Not only that, their pizza's are also delish! I haven't eaten any of their rice meals though. But during our dinner last Saturday, two of my friends told me they didn't like. Maybe it was in the way the pork was cooked. By the way, here are the foods we ordered:

* Calamares. Yumminess!!

* Spaghetti Pesto with Grilled Chicken. Ideal for those who wants to "lose" weight. ;)

* 5-cheese pizza. This pizza has mozarella, parmesan, and other cheeses that I failed to take note. Hehe. Note: The picture is edited. In actuality, it really looks yummy! And it's delish, too! :)

* Golden-Crusted Chicken, Ham and Cheese Crepe with Angel Hair Pomodoro. This, I ordered for myself. This has been always my favorite.

* Skillet BBQ Porkchop with Java Rice. This was what my two friends ordered. They both said they didn't like how the porkchop was cooked. I can't say for myself because I haven't tasted this yet.

And last but definitely not the least, TOSH has affordable prices. And believe me, their serving is really big so you won't regret ordering anything from their menu.

But the best part about having dinner at TOSH is i get to share it with my friends. I've had countless of dinners here with some of my closest friends. And it's always the BEST!! :)

Thank you, TSC, for the fun-filled dinner and for the awesome conversations and bloopers that we had. Looking forward to having more dinners with you guys. :)

A tad disappointed

I wasn't feeling well at all last night. I think I was coming down with a fever. So instead of going online, I decided to take a good rest. Plus, the power was out so it was another reason to just take a rest. Around 9pm, I woke up to the sound of my phone ringing. No, it wasn't a call. It was a ton (and by ton I mean 7) text messages from my friends. I scanned to see who texted me and who were worth replying (I wasn't in the mood to text, okay?). Then I saw an unknown number so I decided to open the text message. It was from my friend who just got back from SG. I was pretty much excited to meet up with her and the rest of my friends so I quickly gave her a reply. After a few exchange of text messages, we finally decided on a venue to meet up: The Walk at 5pm. Perfect. Since I work just a few blocks away from our meet up place, it wouldn't be a problem for me to be on time. I was so excited, I had quite a hard time going back to sleep. :)

By dawn, I got chills. I had to wake up and get me some medicines just so I could report for work and meet up with my friends whom I haven't seen for quite some time already. By morning, I was feeling a bit better. I was so looking forward to this day because I was going to see my HS friends and bond with them over dinner. If I remember it correctly, the last time I got to hang out with them was last Feb 2010 when my gay friend was having his Thanksgiving party for passing the board exam. So that was like over a year ago. WTF?! See?? That's how long we haven't hanged out. Just imagine how ecstatic I was to finally spend some time with them!

But then something came up. At around 3pm, my friend who just got back from SG decided to cancel out on our plan. She said she had an early flight back to SG tomorrow and she wasn't done packing yet. So, yeah. If you imagined how excited I was before the plan was canceled, imagine now how disappointed I was. :(

I'm not mad at my friend, nor was I disappointed with her. It was the whole idea of canceling something I was so looking forward to that made me disappointed. I understand her reasons, believe me. And she's coming back next month anyway. It's just that..you know? I was really excited. Hai.

But I'm okay now. I just went straight home after work. Had a mani-pedi c/o my mother. And did I tell you that because I was disappointed, I declare this day CHEAT DAY. I'll talk about it in my next blog post.
