Food + Shopping + Super Best Friends = ♥

Yesterday evening, I thought about eating lunch somewhere else today. So I texted my two best buddies, Christine and Jalaine, for a lunch date. And as expected, they both agreed. :)

We met up at Christine's place. Since I'm from LLC and Jah is from Mambaling, Christine's place was, by far, the middle point. We opted to have lunch at Golden Peak because we want an eat-all-you-can restaurant. But due to time constraint (we left Christine's house almost 1pm already), we decided to eat at Joven's in Parkmall since it's also an eat-all-you-can resto and they don't have time limit. Because of the overwhelming display of foods, I forgot to take a picture of what we ate. Hahaha! But here's a group shot taken after we've eaten:

After having eaten a lot of dishes, we proceeded to the supermarket to do some groceries for my Mama's birthday tomorrow. Having to walk around the supermarket and looking for the ingredients on the food that we're going to prepare tomorrow was a good way in burning down the fats from the food we've just eaten. Okay, so maybe it won't "burn down" but at least it'll be digested properly. Hehehe. After grocery, we proceeded with doing one of my favorite things to do: WINDOW SHOPPING!!!

What I love about Parkmall is their tiangge located at their 2nd floor. Affordable clothes at its best!! I was supposedly looking for a blouse, short and a cardigan but I ended up buying a dress that costs PhP 300.00 or $6.88 USD. Cheap, right?? Plus, it looks good on me! Hahaha! I super loved it that I wore it right away! Hahahaha! I know it's wrong because it's not washed yet but I loved it too much to not wear it instantly! Hahaha! After buying, we had a little pictorial outside parkmall before separating ways.

7th Wheel

Yes, you read it right. 7th wheel. Not third wheel and also not 5th wheel. And definitely not the type of wheel that destroys relationship. I guess this is what has become of me ever since I become single two years ago. It's not a big problem for me though. I have gotten a little used to this kind of set-up. With most of my college friends being in a relationship, I have been branded as either the 3rd or 5th wheel. This time around, I'm the 7th wheel. I think I'm leveling up. Hahaha! Who cares, really? Well, I really do sometimes. HaHaHa! So how did I become the 7th wheel? Well, we were invited to the birthday of my friends boyfriend so I texted my college barkada regarding this. But the only people who confirmed to attend the celebration were my two girl friends who were in a relationship. I kept convincing my single friends to join us but unfortunately, they can't make it to the party. So that's how I became the 7th wheel.

At times, I am bothered by the thought that up until now I still haven't found myself my significant other. Although I am not in a hurry to be in a relationship, being surrounded by people who are so in love makes me feel sad that I don't have someone to cuddle with. HeHeHe. It seems such a petty issue but its hard to ignore sometimes. Having been in a two long-term relationships, there are moments or even situations when I wish I still had or already have a boyfriend.

Well okay, the last photo didn't really show me being the 7th wheel. It was because the boyfriend of my friend was the one taking the picture. HeHeHe.

I hope the next time we'll be having a beach party, I already have someone to tag along and cuddle with in the beach. And I also pray that starting this year, I will not be branded as the 3rd, 5th, 7th, 9th or whatever wheel anymore. Because I truly believe in my heart that one of these days, I will finally find my significant other. 

For the meantime, I will still continue to be the 3rd, 5th or 7th wheel to my friends who are in a relationship. As long as they won't make me feel out of place or totally ignored. :)

By the way, the night before the beach party, my elder sister asked me why I was going to the party knowing that I'll be the only one without a partner. I answered her with a question, "Why shouldn't I attend?"

I answered her with that question because I couldn't find a reason as to why I shouldn't attend the party. It was, afterall, a birthday celebration. Not a couples retreat or a couple's gathering. And besides, I was going with my friends. I'm confident that they wouldn't make me feel lonely or left out. And that was  what exactly happened. I had so much fun and the food was uber good.

So to the ladies (and even gentlemen) out there who are in the same situation as I am, CHEER UP! There's nothing wrong with being the 3rd, 5th, or 7th wheel as long as you're not destroying a relationship. It can be fun most of the time. Plus, it gives you better perspective of the kind of relationship you want to have when the day comes that someone will win your heart. xx

A boy in the past

So this was me when I was still 11 years old. At that time, I had no control over the length of my hair because my mother was the one who paid the barber. I could still remember how I always cry in the salon every time my hair was being cut short..like boy-cut short. 

Anyway, I found this picture while my mother and I were cleaning up. I laughed upon seeing this because there was this one accident that made me vow never to have my hair cut this way again. You see, my mother and I loved going to Colon (an old place in Cebu, Philippines). So one Saturday afternoon, as we were in the jeepney going home, a certain passenger passed to me his fare while saying in vernacular, "Palihug ko dunol sa plite dong!" (Please hand my fare, boy!) I really cried when we got home. What made me more frustrated was the fact that I was wearing a dress when that incident happened, and yet that passenger still saw me as a boy. A BOY! 

From then on, I would never allow my mother to let my hair be this short again. It can be shoulder-length but not boy cut anymore. Hehehe.

I also showed this picture to my very close friend who was dumbfounded when she saw this. Then after staring at the picture for about 5 minutes, she asked me, "Ikaw ni Madam?" (Is this you, Madam?). Then we both laughed so hard. Hahahaha! She then asked me a follow-up question if I was a boy before and all I could say, "Whaaaat?? You really think I was a boy before?" Hahahahaha! But I have to admit, I really DID look like a boy with that type of haircut. Then she teased me about having a sex change! Crazy amiga! hahahahaha!!

But really, despite having an embarrassing and quite traumatic experience with this hair cut, I can admit that during this time, I bonded well with my Papa. I was like his son and we were having a "father and son" bonding. And it was fun really. At least my Papa knows, even for a short while, what it felt to have a son. For the information of everybody, I don't have a brother. Only two elder sisters. Hehehe. So I'm sure that my Papa felt the same fun I felt. Right now kasi, since I'm dalaga already and working na, we don't get to bond anymore. Sad really.

Welcome to the Christian World Kiddie Bam

Yesterday, Feb. 13, 2011, was the baptism of our beloved nephew Moses Franco. It was held at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Punta Princesa, Cebu City. It was just a small gathering of the people close to my cousin and her husband. Here are some of the pictures William took during the event:

Other accessories not displayed are earrings from Color stones, Pearl Bracelet from SM Accessories, Lucky Charm bracelet from my boss and watch from I-forgot-where. Haha! I was really conscious while wearing my outfit. But what the heck! I'm with my family anyway.

Pre-valentines dinner at TOSH

Well, if you have been an avid reader of my blog (just assuming), then you'll know that I'm still single. And this will be the 3rd valentines that I am boyfriend-less. It doesn't bother me at all, though. But I have to say that I miss getting flowers and chocolates or other special surprises during this special LOVE day. It just makes me want to sulk in bed all day until this Valentine's day is over. Naaah. Just kidding. ;)

So last Satuday, Feb. 12, 2011, me and TSC (The Singles Club) consisting of Sheng, Nina, Thamer and Adie planned on having a pre-valentines date dinner. This will also serve as a bonding moment for us. You see, we're all  very busy with work and other stuffs that we rarely get to see and spend time with each other. So the plan was to have dinner at The Old Spaghetti House (TOSH) in SM at 6pm. Well, Pinoys as we are, most of them were late for our plan. Hehehe. :))

We always love to eat at TOSH. So what's in this place that makes us come back for more?

First of all, they have GREAT SERVICE. I'd give them a 5-star rating for that. They always serve your food in time and the best thing is, it is served HOT.

Second, they have one of the BEST LOOKING FOOD ATTENDANTS. Since day one, I've always observed that most of the waitress or waiter that serves the food or hands out our bill are really good looking. I think it's part of their qualifications in hiring food attendants.

Third, they have one of the best pasta's served here in Cebu. Not only that, their pizza's are also delish! I haven't eaten any of their rice meals though. But during our dinner last Saturday, two of my friends told me they didn't like. Maybe it was in the way the pork was cooked. By the way, here are the foods we ordered:

* Calamares. Yumminess!!

* Spaghetti Pesto with Grilled Chicken. Ideal for those who wants to "lose" weight. ;)

* 5-cheese pizza. This pizza has mozarella, parmesan, and other cheeses that I failed to take note. Hehe. Note: The picture is edited. In actuality, it really looks yummy! And it's delish, too! :)

* Golden-Crusted Chicken, Ham and Cheese Crepe with Angel Hair Pomodoro. This, I ordered for myself. This has been always my favorite.

* Skillet BBQ Porkchop with Java Rice. This was what my two friends ordered. They both said they didn't like how the porkchop was cooked. I can't say for myself because I haven't tasted this yet.

And last but definitely not the least, TOSH has affordable prices. And believe me, their serving is really big so you won't regret ordering anything from their menu. 

But the best part about having dinner at TOSH is i get to share it with my friends. I've had countless of dinners here with some of my closest friends. And it's always the BEST!! :)
