Friday Afternoon Delight

I filed for a sick leave last friday afternoon to have myself checked. Lately, I wasn't feeling all too well and it has got me a bit paranoid (and my mom, too). I went to our family doctor's clinic to have my check up. I was expecting him to be around but sad to say, he's only available by night. So instead, Dr. Janine Uy was the one who entertained me. The start of our conversation was light. She asked me what was wrong and so I told her what I was feeling lately. She then asked me when was the last time that I had my period and what's funny was that I was not able to answer her right away! Hahahaha! Dr. Janine laughed a little and told me it's okay that I wasn't able to answer quickly. Haha! F.Y.I. I'm not pregnant! Hahaha! She said that I had a bad case of dyspepsia because I wasn't able to burp and had difficulty breathing at times. She also suspected that something was wrong with my ventricles but I'm happy to say that there isn't. So she just gave me two medicines to drink in case something goes wrong again.

Right after my check up, I got a bit angry for not seeing Jah in the waiting area who was supposed to accompany me while waiting for my turn with the doctor. Instead, I ended up waiting for her outside Dr. Uy's clinic. Haaai nako. Filipinos are known to show up late during meet-ups. I wish we'd change that bad attitude. Anyway, we proceeded to SM to meet up with Christine. We were planning on watching Red Riding Hood movie (I've blogged about it already). While waiting for Christine, Jah and I strolled around SM. We saw some displays of bonsai trees. They were all so cute! And moments after, Christine arrived.

We proceeded to SM Cinema 2 to watch Red Riding Hood. Christine was the one who paid for the tickets. SUPER YEY! hahaha! While inside the cinema, we were being critics of the movie. We noticed how at some angle, Peter (Shiloh Fernandez) looked a bit like Dan Humphrey of Gossip Girl. Or how there were a lot of boys (most of them good looking) in the village where Valerie lived. During the entire movie, I think I was the only one who screamed twice. Hahaha! There were some scary scenes, mind you. And we also had fun hearing the comments of some movie goers. At one point, someone behind us asked his girlfriend, "So, what she's eating is her grandmother?" Christine and I couldn't keep ourselves from laughing. Duuude! Hahahahaha!

When the movie was done, we decided to stroll SM once again. We went to check out some boutiques. I was tempted to buy some clothings but I had to control myself because I was saving up for something. Then we went to the department store so that I could show Christine and Jah the  mineral foundation that I wanted to buy. The sales lady at L'oreal tested it out on me and it looked great on my face! Waaaah! Christine and Jah convinced me of buying it but I kept refusing. It cost really expensive but I know it's worth it. So after so much convincing from my friends, I gave in. I bought it! Waaaah! I'm planning on using it only on special occasions though. Hehehehe.

So here it is, my own L'oreal Mineral Foundation only to be used on special occasions:

And here's a picture of me with L'oreal Mineral foundation applied:

I don't know if you can see the wonders of the foundation on my face through that picture, but in actual, you can really see a big difference. It was really worth the buy!

So that was it for my Friday Afternoon Delight. :) Thanks to Christine and Jalaine for the time.

Thoughts: Red Riding Hood (Movie)

I have so much things I want to blog about, but let me start by sharing with you guys what I thought about the movie, Red Riding Hood.

Starred by Amanda Seyfried (Mean Girls, Mamma Mia), this movie is an adaptation of the famous children's book authored by Brothers Grimm. In the movie, it revolves around Valerie (Seyfried) and her connections to the mysterious werewolf who was hunting their village.

During the start of the movie, I was fascinated by the beauty of Peter played by actor Shiloh Fernandez. Hahaha! I know. I'm sorry. I got distracted with him. Hehehe. But seriously, I thought the movie was GREAT! I like how it makes you guess who the mystery werewolf is and how it makes Valerie both a victim and a suspect. I also loved the setting. Gorgeous, I may say! It was set in the deep corner of the forest where it was snowing during the some part of the movie. And the special effects and the stunts were ozzum (awesome)!!! I especially loved the fight scenes and how they struggled to capture the werewolf. It was HIGH FIVE for me! Hahahaha! But what I loved most about the whole movie was how they were able to keep the identity of the werewolf a secret from the start until the later part of the movie. We made a lot of guesses but never did it crossed my mind that the real culprit was ____________!

So I were to rate it, I'd give it a 4 out of 5 stars. Why? Because I believe that nothing is perfect. Hahahaha! But believe me when I say that the movie is worth watching.

By the way, here's my favorite conversation in the whole movie (which was also in the book):

Valerie: Grandma, what big eyes you have?
Werewolf: Oh, the better to see you with, my dear.
V: Grandma, what big ears you have?
WW: Oh, the better to hear you with, my dear.
V: Grandma, what big teeth you have?
WW: Oh, the better to eat you with, my dear!

Hahahahahaha!!! Those are the only lines that I memorized kasi. Hahahaha!!

And here are two of the leading stars in the movie:

Amanda Seyfried as Valerie

Shiloh Fernandez as Peter
So you guys watch it jud! Your money won't be wasted. Plus, if you are a die-hard Twilight fan, then you'll be happy to know that it is directed by the same director who directs the Twilight Saga. :)

And lastly, let me say thanks to Christine for the free tickets! Love yew!!! :)

Mineral Foundation

I first heard about this product when my cousin mentioned it to me. I was curious about it. So when we went to the mall one day, I let my cousin show it to me. She showed me Revlon Mineral Foundation. We tried it out and I instantly fell in love with it. The only problem is, it costs way too much for me.

This costs Php 975.00 in SM and Ayala Malls

The other recommended brands are:

Maybelline Mineral Foundation costs cheaper at Php 599.00. Problem is, a lot of my friends are saying that it is not as bongga compared to Revlon and L'oreal.

L'oreal Mineral Foundation was what I loved most. It costs Php 945.00. A bit lesser compared to revlon.

My problem now is, "Is it worth buying?" I mean, I already loved it even if I haven't purchased one, how much more if I'll own one? Will I be able to maintain the expenses? Haay nako..the price I have to pay to beautify myself.

Guys, can you help me with my dilemma? Which brand should I buy? I'm thinking that this will be worth the buy but I just need to find the right brand.

SICK

I threw up all the food I ate for lunch today. I don't know why it happened but it did. The food was okay. No sign of it being a waste and the taste was fine. After drinking water, I instantly felt nauseated. I hurriedly went to the bathroom and threw up. This is the 2nd time I threw up in a span of 1 week without any particular reason. The 1st was during the birthday of my Mama last February 26. It also happened during lunch time. Everything that I ate was gone to waste. I really have no idea whats wrong with me. And also last Friday, when I was on my way home, I had difficulty breathing and my hands and feet were numb. I panicked a little since I was still a distant away from home. I thought I was gonna pass out while inside the vehicle but thank God I was able to keep my composure. I also had difficulty burping. I don't know if that matters but it affected my breathing.

I told my friends about this and they all have one advice: GO FOR A CHECK UP!

I will go for a check up once I will be able to organize my schedule. I just can't be absent for work. I have a lot of things to accomplish for this month. But going to the doctor is one of my priorities though.

Haaay! I hope nothing serious is wrong with me. I really don't want to take a lot of medications considering that I am now under medication.

6th Month and still Happy ^_^

Yes, I am officially on my 6th month with the company I'm working for and I've never been happier. I'm glad..No..I'm HAPPY to be part of their company. Although it isn't well-known, although it isn't as BIG compared to other companies and even though it is facing some minor and major problems here and abroad, I'm still proud to be employed with them.

I guess what makes my stay in this company very accommodating is the people I'm working with. My Direct Supervisor is very pleasant and is very approachable. I can talk to her about anything, whether it be concerning my work assignments, my personal life, opinions on a certain topic and my different points of view in life. I also like how she guides me with whatever it is I am doing, making sure that I get the right thing. And I'm impressed with her patience not only with me, but with the whole company as well. I also enjoy working with our accounting staff. They are my regular companions in the day shift.

Overall, it is with the people I work with that make things easier for me. Whether I'm having a super duper busy and stressful day at work, a few laughs and some chikas with my officemates lightens up the load.

Thank you, Dyomo. Thank you Ma'am Emi, Ms. Lona, Dan, and the rest of you guys. I'm officially on my 6th month with the company and I'm still happy. Looking forward to more FUN with all of you! :)

Reunited and it feels so good

Remember about the time I told you I was disappointed about a dinner with friends that wasn't pushed through? If you don't, then read here to know more about it. So anyway, finally, last night it pushed through. YEY!! Our dearest friend who's now working in Singapore was able to come and visit us here in Cebu last Friday. So we instantly planned for a dinner reunion. It happened last night at Ayala. I was super excited to see them all!!

F.Y.I.: The last time we got to hang out was in Feb of 2010. It's been a year already. Imagine that! And the funny thing is, we all live in Cebu (well except for one who's already based in Singapore). Hahaha! Well anyway, here are some pics to sum up the superb fun night I had with my superb friends:

Dinner was at Casa Verde in Ayala. I had golden chicken strips (not sure of the name) while the rest of them had steak and their famous baby back ribs. I always love eating at Casa Verde. They have superb meals at an affordable price. Plus their ambiance is always a delight. Over dinner, we caught up with each others lives. From work to school to love life. And we also had some gossiping to catch up! Hahaha! Talking about HS is always a bliss! Hahaha!

After our sumptuous dinner, we headed over to Red Box for some karaoke time. This would be the 2nd time that I've been to this place. And I have to say that I love it!! Although it is a bit pricey, it is totally worth is because their songs are the latest hits plus they have great food and great service too! We availed of their 99/hr/person package exclusive of tax. We lasted their for two hours. Got tired of singing our hearts out! Hahahaha! And I guess we got tired of dancing too! It was a riot inside! Hahaha!

Lurelyn, our friend who is now based in Singapore, treated us with this Vodka. Now, I have never been an avid drinker of Vodka. Only Tequilla. And it's been quite a while since I had drank an alcoholic beverage so when I took a sip from this drink, my face turned weird. Hahaha! Not only my face, but my friends as well! Hahahaha!! It was really funny to see them looking so weird after every sip. I guess it was too hard for us. Or maybe we weren't just used to with the taste. We paired it with french fries and some chocolates as well to alleviate the eekiness (I know, no such term) of the taste. LOL! But it sure did recharge me! We continued to sing and danced and made fun of each other. Pictures here and there and everywhere! Hahaha! And since their WiFi was free, we also took advantage of it. Tweeted and posted some pics in Facebook and Twitter. Then at around 9 something, we decided to end our singing career. Hahahahaha!

The perfect way to get rid of the taste of the vodka that was stuck in our tongues was through a cup of ice cream. We ordered at Gelatissimo and I had me a choco chip flavored ice cream. Although Carla left early, we continued to hang out and talked more about our individual lives. I found out a lot from that night. A lot of secrets and intrigues to be exact. But what was talked about last night in Gelatissimo, stays there and between us! Some were shocking, surprising and purely expected. Some were gross and some were exciting. I also found out something that will happen soon in my friends life. And we're all very excited about it! Haaai! We really did missed out A LOT about each others lives. And last night was the perfect way to catch up. With a cup-full of ice cream, our night ended the way I wanted it to be. FUN and WORTH REMEMBERING! I'm really looking forward to our next bonding. Im sure its one hell of a riot again! LOL!

Thank you Cai, Lyn, Toi, Manuel and Carla for the superb FUN we had last night. I super duper missed you guys so much!! I was uber happy that we finally got to hang out and talked about our lives. Till our next bonding! And hopefully we get to have as much fun as we had last night! LOVE YOU ALL!!!! :)

And a special shout out to the birthday girl who we failed to treat out last night. Sorry, Carla! We'll all make it up to you next week!

xoxo
