Fitness First

Every month, I always tell myself to lose weight. And almost every month, I fail to do it. Why? Lack of discipline. It's so easy to avoid eating junk foods and rice for the first few days. But as days go by, you realize that the more you deprive yourself from something you want to eat, the more you want to eat it. And worse, once you get to start eating those "forbidden" foods, you double your consumption. Waaaah! That is why, ladies and gentlemen, I still don't have my ideal figure back.

I am not aiming for a 36-24-36 figure. I just want to have my 29" waistline back. Right now, I have a 31" waistline. NOT GOOD. The last time I had a 29" waistline was when I was still in college (2008). My breakup with my ex plus the stress of thesis caused my weight loss (I had a 30.5" waistline then). But when I started earning money on my own, I started to gain weight again. It was only by the end of 2010 that I gained so much, I wanted to have a liposuction by Dra. Belo. But since I can't afford it (and I'm 100% sure my parents wouldn't approve of it), I opted to try diet pills and different weight-loss teas. Some of it worked, others were a complete waste of money. Plus, it had weird side effects on me. There's one that made my heart palpitate very fast, one that almost had me dehydrated and one that caused dizziness. It was a crazy experience for me. But I found the right diet pill for me, though. I just had to temporarily stop using it because I am undergoing a medication for something. All-in-all, most diet pills or teas won't be effective if you don't do some exercise and strict discipline on yourself.

All these talk about me wanting to lose weight reached my papa. He, too, wanted to lose weight and stay fit. Last Sunday, while we were having lunch, he asked my mama how much a treadmill would cost. Mama said that it was quite expensive. So my dad said that he won't buy nalang. He said we'll both settle with jogging and some after-six diet. But I was surprised when he got back from SM. He bought a treadmill which was really quite expensive. Hahaha! I was happy when I saw the treadmill because I now have a reason to lose weight and stay fit.

The treadmill in B&W. Took the picture using my iTouch. On the left side is the actual time, distance and calories burned on my first try. It was only a 2km speed.
On my first use of the treadmill, I only lasted for 12 mins. on a speed of 2km with a 0.6 distance. Burned a total of 9.6 calories. Hahaha! I got dizzy afterwards. I'm not used to doing this at all man gud. Haha! But I kept improving. Just tonight, I was able to last up to 30 minutes and burned a total of 33 calories. Not bad. Haha!

So now, I have a machine that'll surely help me get back my ideal weight and waistline. As for now, I haven't eaten rice for almost 2 weeks already. I'm really imposing a strict discipline on myself. It isn't easy but I know I'll get through this. Plus, it's almost summer. Gotta get ready for that sexy beach outfit I'm planning to wear. Hahaha!
